When a pregnancy is confirmed, it’s possible to feel indecisive‧e about the outcome.

Whether it’s a lack of choice, fluctuating ideas or an ever-growing list of arguments… It’s normal to feel the need for support. The people around you can be helpful in clarifying things, but they can also add pressure, pushing you to choose one side over the other.

Le‧a partner may, or may not, be involved‧e in the decision, but it’s always up to the pregnant person. To make an informed decision, it’s essential to gather a lot of information. Decisions can be made quickly or over a longer period of time, and brainstorming exercises can help.

  • Reacting strongly to the news of a pregnancy is normal. Letting the dust settle and calming down before discussing next steps is a good strategy.
  • Identify the issues and set limits with your partner.
  • Express your thoughts honestly, but respectfully. This will enable the pregnant person to make an informed decision.
  • Find a‧e trusted loved one to talk to about it.
